return of the mighty Minor Peewee AE from TNT was finally here. The team
travelled to the notoriously tenacious town of Orangeville to take on some top
end teams from across the province.

The first team to challenge for the title was the already one and oh Halton Hurricanes. Could our boys weather the storm?
The first period saw end to end action as neither team wanted to give up the goose egg. Finally, late in the period, with a blast from the point by Cal “the Cannon” Virtue-McCague saw the storm settle to take a 1-0 lead into the 2nd. Asssits by Gregory Prock and Taylor Smith. In the second, with the tilt tied, another blast from “the Cannon” took the lead again. Virtue-McCague from Jacob Jackson and Prock. 2-1 good guys. Before the end of the frame Brayden “Breakaway” Vienneau flew in all alone on a feed from William VanderZaag and Elijah DaSilva to make the score 3-1 heading in to the third and final frame. The third saw an almost catastrophic collapse as Halton regained steam and tied the game but in the end, Jacob “the Juggernaut” Jackson slammed in the game winner to take game one of the tournament 4-3. Assists on this goal from Nate Holmes and Damien Futas.
Game two of the day saw your home team take on another talented team when they hit the ice to play the Guelph Jr. Storm. With our boys flying high it was not to be and with some acrobatic stops from our superstar stopper Logan “the Wall” MacLellan there wasn’t a chance. Goals scored in this one by Gregory “Great Shot” Prock (2) and “Juggernaut” Jackson with one. Assists from Grayson Madore, Bryce McKnight, Robert Allen, Zachary Williamson, Reed Schlosser And Michael Allen.
Game three was against the home town Flyers. A win would all but secure a first place finish in this difficult round Robin. The boys were gaining steam and were not to be out soared as they scored easy and often to make the final 5-2.
The Final game of the schedule saw a battle of two Titan clubs. A win either way would secure a first place finish and a favorable semi going into championship Sunday. With the score still a draw, Bryce “MoJo” McKnight blasted one past the mighty hawk stopper giving these young stars a 1-0 lead after one. The second saw some tight checking and some great penalty killing as “the Wall” MacLellan closed the door to keep the lead heading into the third and final frame. Halfway through the third “MoJo” McKnight said “go home tonight” as he hammered in the game winner to make it a 2-1 1st place clincher. Great work team. Assists from Smith, VanderZaag and Jackson.
Early Sunday the team arrived as the fog was hanging just over the ice surface. A great warm up ensured the team was ready to play in a rematch vs. Halton Hills Thunder. In the first, the trio of “Juggernaut” Jackson from Vienneau and Holmes broke open the score. Then to follow up “Juggernaut” hammered in another from McKnight and Williamson to take a sigh of relief 2-0 lead. It wasn’t until the third when the lid was flipped as “Juggernaut” hit the hatty for his third of the game. Again from Vienneau and Holmes. Off to the final with a 3-0 win.
In the final, Guelph wanted it bad. They had shocked the Hawks in the other semi and they wanted gold. At the drop of the puck you knew the young local stars were ready to shine as seconds into the game a tic tac toe play from Holmes to Vienneau that sprung Michael “Make no Mistake” Allen in all alone. No mistake for a piece of cake. 1-0 good guys. Wanting more, “Juggernaut” Jackson scored from McKnight. The third lamp lighter was right like the first as Holmes to Vienneau fed “MnM” Allen to take a commanding 3-0 lead after the first frame. The Second saw more of the same as Gregory “Great Shot” Prock fired the fourth from DaSilva and Williamson. Finally to end it out Robert “All Star”Allen from Futas and Williamson to take a 5-0 lead to end number two. As our stars thought it was sealed, they let up just a little but and the Storm started to strengthen. Our incredible “wall” stood tall as Guelph really tried to break the egg but to no avail. Save after save, shot after shot. Nothing was getting by these stars. At the final buzzer the toque took flight and Champs these young stars were crowned. Great work Boys.
