The season started off with two top Titans facing off in what was sure to be a battle. The TNT Minor PeeWee Ae hosted the near nemesis Barrie Flyers. The first period saw a real end to ender as both teams tried to take the lead. In the end the period was tied on great passing from Nate Holmes to Brayden Vienneau to back door feed Jacob “the Juggernaut” Jackson. 1-1 after one.

In the 2nd these young stars finally controlled the game. Two quick goals to take the lead. Could this be the day? Goal one by Gregory “Great Shot” Prock from Bryce McKnight and Jackson. Goal two of the period scored by Michael “Make no Mistake” Allen on passes from Elijah DaSilva and Taylor Smith. 3-2 TNT after two.

As the third period started, these super shooting stars sensed a quick two points but as the boys settled in, Barrie really started to play. Our young tough guns started to fill up the box as they tried to hang on. In the end the young stars could not hang on as they lost 5-3 in a real nail biter. See you again soon Flyers. We will be ready.

Game two of the season saw the local young twisters host the undefeated striped felines from Aurora. Would our boys tame the tigers? The first period was back and forth. Aurora scored. TNT answered back on a blast from “Great Shot” Prock on passes from Jackson and William VanderZaag. Before the end of the frame the visiting team took the lead again. 2-1 Tigers after one.

In the second period the home hockey heroes decided enough was enough. BOOM! Tie game on a tip in by Zachary “Warrior” Williamson from Cal Virtue-McCague and Grayson Madore. BAM! “The Cannon” Virtue-McCague takes the lead from Jackson and Holmes. 3-2 after 2.

The third period again saw our young stars count their winnings before they hatched as the Tigers really pressed hard for the equalizer. If it were not for some incredible acrobatics by our top stopping tender, Logan “the Wall” MacLellan the result could have changed. In the end it was 3-2 final for the first of hopefully many in the mighty York Simcoe loop.

The next up to challenge the tremendous Twisters was the still undefeated Stouffville Clippers in a mid week warm up. The first period saw our boys battle hard to take the lead and never look back. Great goals from “Juggernaut” Jackson and “Breakaway” Vienneau assisted by Robert Allen, Williamson, Madore and Holmes. In the second, both teams traded twine tighteners to end the frame 3-2 good guys. Goal scored by “All Star” Allen from Damien Futas and Madore. The last period of the game saw “Juggernaut” Jackson seal the deal to make the final 4-2. Assist from McKnight. Great season start TNT. Keep up the hard work.
