Over this past weekend the TNT U18LL team 2 did it again, they won the Innisfil tournament.
Yes, you read that right, back to back victories in the Innisfil Winterhawks annual tournament.
The tournament started out with a spirited battle against the New Hamburg Huskies, where the team kept their cool and won 4-1. Next, they played the West Niagara Flying Aces, who by the way they beat in the finals last year of this tournament. The Flying Aces gave them a real test scoring late in the game to tie it up at one. The game finished in a 1-1 tie. A tie made TNT's next game a must win and they were more than ready for this challenge defeating the Erindale Spitfires 4-0. TNT was pretty charged up with the victory and sailed into the finals defeating The Coldwater Wildcats 7-2. This set up an epic rematch with The Flying Aces. TNT carried the play all game, leading 2-0 in the 3rd period. The Flying Aces made a charge scoring two quick goals, with only 5 minutes left in the game and the Flying Aces were on top of the world. They flew high but not for long, as TNT scored a minute later to take the lead again 3-2. The last four minutes were filled with hard work, heart and determination. The Aces fell again to TNT in a nail biting 3-2 victory. Congratulations to the U18LL team 2!!!
