TNT Major Peewee AE. Tournament Champions in Belleville!!
A big win for this team in their first tournament of the season.

Their first game was against the host team, the Belleville Junior Bulls. After a slow start TNT pulled away with a final score of 7 to 1.
The second game of the day was against the Ice Raiders of Scarborough.  Our boys had only an hour rest before this game which turned out to be quite the physical affair. But the young Tornados prevailed with a hard fought 5 to 2 win.
Game three was on Saturday at 9:25am against the Ajax Knights. Looks like our guys were well rested and came away with an 8 to 1 victory.
Then came game four, a game that will live on in infamy. TNT faced a very well coached and talented team called the Clarance Rockland Crush. These guys were big, strong and fast. The game was looking to end in a zero-zero draw when a lucky bouncing puck went behind the TNT goalie at 1:34 of the 3rd period to give the Crush the victory. This was the first loss of the season for our boys.
The round robin ended up like this;
1st-Clarance Rockland Crush
2nd-TNT
3rd-Northumberland Nighthawks
4th-Scarborough Ice Raiders.

Off to the Semis. TNT took down the Nighthawks with a convincing 8 to 2 victory. In the other semi the Crush took down the Raiders in similar fashion. It was fate, the two best teams in the tournament were to play for the championship.

Both teams had about 90 minutes rest between games.  TNT scored early and quickly to finish the first period with a surprising 3 to 0 lead. The second period yielded no goals by either squad. Off to the final 15 minutes.  It was a back and forth period with a few chances by both teams. But TNT kept up the pressure all period long and padded their lead with another 2 goals to make it a 5 to 0 final.

Congratulations to the young men of the Peewee AE team who had a great tournament. Also congratulations to the coaching staff of Bill Mercer, Scott Bales, Dave Reid and Dean MacDonald for prepping our guys.

Go TNT Go!!!
