TNT Major Peewee AE, Finalists in London
Our team was in London this weekend to play in the annual London Nationals Blue and White Tourney.
In a tournament that was labeled no contact the referees let these kids play some good ol' hockey. In turn the parents had some good ol' fun of their own!! ;)
Game one was against the Port Credit Storm. This team had 300 kids tryout in the early fall! The final was 7 to 3 for TNT.
Game two was against the Faustina Fury, a MD team from North York, they proved to be a little tougher to beat but TNT prevailed with a 2 to 1 victory.
Game three of the round robin was against the Brantford 99ers who also were undefeated...until they played the Tornados that is. In a fast paced, action packed game TNT came on top with a 4 to 2 win.
The semi final game was at 8:30am on Sunday. The team showed up at the rink bright an early. The players (not so much the parents for whatever reason) were raring to go but the rink was closed. It was a cold day in London that morning my friends!! Anyway, the rink staff showed up and got the game on it's way as scheduled.
We faced the Kitchener Rangers. In another great game that saw a bunch of penalties and some "rough stuff" TNT came on top again with a 3 to 2 win. Off to the finals.
The last game of the tournament was against the home squad, the London Nationals. TNT had the lead two times in the game; 1 to 0 and 2 to 1. London, playing hard in their home venue, scored the winning goal near the end of the third period to make the final score 3 to 2 for the Nationals.
All in all a fun weekend for the entire Peewee AE team. With no less then 4 or 5 new house league players on this team they continue to come together like a big family. Being new to the team ourselves we feel like we've known these people for decades. What hockey and being CANADIAN is all about.
All the best to all our TNT teams this season,
The Webmaster.
