Congratulations to the ATOM AE team on their victory over Aurora.
It was a long road to the championship for this team. The playdowns started on January-24th in the OMHA prelims against Stouffville and Markham White. They went 3 and 1 winning the round robin and putting them in the quarters against a determined Centre Wellington team. They played them hard but fell short in game 5.
Coach Collins rallied the team as they entered the York Simcoes in a round robin against Markham Blue and Innisfil. Our team dominated going 3 and 0 winning by a combined score of 16 to 2, including a shutout.
That put us in the semis against Newmarket. Game 1 went to the Redmen. The remaining three? Yeah, it was all TNT. We took the series in four games.
Next up were the Aurora Tigers for all the marbles. TNT took the series in three games against a very good Aurora team.
