TNT Atom AE Makes Finals in Whitby
Submitted By Webmaster on Monday, October 10, 2016
The TNT minor Atom AE team travelled east over the Thanksgiving weekend to play in this year’s Edge Again Cup.

The team started out slow against Markham, giving up 2 goals early in the game, but came back to win 4-2.  After waking up, the team dominated Ajax, however their goalie played a fantastic game, keeping the score at a respectable 4-1.

The following day was an early start against the host team.  Whitby is undefeated in their league, racking up scores of 10-0 and 9-1, as well as beating Markham 11-4 and Ajax 10-2 in the tournament. From the start, our team controlled the game, thumping Whitby 7-2.  Later in the day, our team continued the pressure, taking down Ajax 12-1 in the semi-finals, despite their talented goalie.

We played Whitby again in the finals and played their huge hearts out.  In the end, it was a game that could have gone either way.  We lost as a team, 2-1.

Our coaching staff wants to congratulate our amazing players who have come a very long way since the start of the season.  Also, a huge thank you to all the parents, friends and family who came out to support and make a ton of noise.  This is only the beginning of the season.  The best is yet to come!

Thanks again from the TNT Atom AE coaching staff
