After six hard fought games TNT came out on top.
TNT Minor Bantam AE won a hard fought game against the Barrie Colts (Blue) to take the Bradford Blue and Gold Championship.
After going 3-0-1 in the round robin TNT faced a determined Richmond Hill team in the semi finals. TNT battled all game long and came out with a 5 to 1 victory to put them in finals against the Colts.
TNT opened the scoring at the midpoint of the first period to go up 1 to 0.
Barrie tied the game in the second period 1 to 1.
The third period started out with man in the box and the Colts took the opportunity to take the lead early in the third, 2 to 1.
Only 32 seconds later TNT tied it up, 2 to 2.
The rest of the period saw both teams ply their penalty killing skills as there was a total of 7 penalties which resulted in no goals.
On to overtime and 4 on 4 hockey. Everyone was feeling the pressure but with a minute, twenty left Makias scored the winning goal on a solid wrist shot from the bottom of the face off circle.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE YOUNG MEN AS THEY BATTLED HARD ALL WEEKEND.
This team continues to bond and gel as the season goes on. Their overall record this season including tournaments and exhibition games is 22-4-4.
