TNT still has 6 teams fighting for championship glory, here is where they stand as of today (March-16).
Minor Atom AE- After losing in the OMHA preliminaries in 5 games they faced off against Aurora in the York Simcoe quarters. They took that series in 4 games which put them against Newmarket in the semi-finals. Winning the series in three straight games has put this team in the York Simcoe finals. They are waiting to see who they face next which will be either Stouffville or Georgina.
Minor Peewee AE- Started out in the OMHA prelims and took down Georgina Blaze in three games. Next up were the Barrie Colts in the quarters, unfortunately we lost in 3 games. That put this team into the York Simcoe’s against the Markham Waxers 2, our team rallied and won the series in three games with a combined score of 28-2. Now we are in the YS semis against the Clippers of Stouffville. We lost the first game 3-2, however games 2 and 3 were ours. Game 4 is March-16 in Stouffville.
Minor Bantam A- This team is rolling! They started off a little rusty and lost the first two games of the playoffs, since then they have gone 9-1-1. Currently they are in the semi-finals playing against a tough Innisfil team. We are up 5 points to 3 with game five happening on March 17 at Innisfil. The winning team goes to the finals!
Bantam LL- Our lone surviving Local League team and they are in the Group 3 Simcoe Region Finals against the Georgina Blaze 1. We’ve played some good hockey winning the first round robin and coming in second in the next one. Game 1 of the finals is on March 20 In Georgina.
Minor Midget AA- This team has been playing some solid hockey this playoff season. In the first two rounds they went 6 and 2. They are currently in the YS semi-finals against the Richmond Hill Stars who finished second overall in the regular season. We dropped the first two games but staved off elimination earlier this week by taking game three 4-3. Game 4 is March-17 at the NTRC 7:30pm.
Minor Midget MD- These guys are looking at setting some sort of record for the most games played this season. They’ve played 14 games in the playoffs alone. They are currently playing on the consolation side of the YS MD playoffs. They are facing Caledon in the semis and the series is tied at a game each. Game 3 is March-17 at the NTRC, 5:30pm.
