Before the players hit the ice at yesterday's home game TNT Minor Midget AA made a special presentation to a long time opponent of the Barrie Colts team.
Ty Armatage who plays for the Colts was recently diagnosed with a serious illness.
Coach David Price of TNT heard the unfortunate news and decided to do something to lift Ty's spirits.
Through some connections, Coach Price was able to attain one of Ty's jerseys. Coach Price's sister-in-law, Dawn Braid, teaches several NHL players and she asked them if they would sign the jersey to present to Ty. Thanks to Dawn's efforts more than 15 NHL players lined up to sign, see below for a list of the signatures.
Although opponents when it comes to the puck drop, as coach Price put it "we are all part of a hockey family". Prior to the game, players from both teams sat together in the TNT dressing room for the presentation to Ty whose father, Pat, was also there. Ty and his dad really appreciated the presentation and the effort it took.
Ty, on behalf of your "hockey family" we wish you all the best and hope this small token lifted your spirits just a little bit.
